Vijnana Bhairava 127 128 Awakening to What Is Uncreated And Merging In Space

The practice of awakening to what is uncreated and merging in space :

yad avedyaṃ yad agrāhyaṃ yac chūnyaṃ yad abhāvagam |

tat sarvam bhairavam bhāvyaṃ tadante bodhasambhavaḥ || 127 ||

"What is unkonwable, ungraspable,

what is empty and not an object :

all that should be realized as divine.

At the end of that (realization)

awakening/awareness arises."

nitye nirāśraye śūnye vyāpake kalanojjhite |

bāhyākāśe manaḥ kṛtvā nirākāśaṃ samāviśet || 128 ||

"Project (your) attention in outer space

which is eternel, without support, empty

pervasive (and) undivided.

Then one will be completely absorbed into hyper-space."

ākāśaṃ vimalam paśyan kṛtvā dṛṣṭiṃ nirantarām |

with gaze unmoving,
stable from that (very) moment,
one will reach the divine body, o Goddess !"

Vijnana Bhairava 58 59 60 Gazing At Open Space

The practice of opening awareness through gazing at an empty space ou a wide open landscape :

viśvam etan mahādevi śūnyabhūtaṃ vicintayet |
tatraiva ca mano līnaṃ tatas tallayabhājanam || 58 ||
"O Goddess ! One should envision
all this universe as being empty.
And attention will dissolve there itself.
Then one will be the vessel where (all) that dissolve away."

ghatādibhājane dṛṣṭim bhittis tyaktvā vinikṣipet |
tallayaṃ tatkṣaṇād gatvā tallayāt tanmayo bhavet || 59 ||
One should throw one gaze/attention
in a vessel like the body, putting aside its walls.
Dissolving in that (space) from then onward,
one will become that because of dissolving in that."

nirvṛkṣagiribhittyādideśe dṛṣṭiṃ vinikṣipet |
vilīne mānase bhāve vṛttikṣiṇaḥ prajāyate || 60 ||
"One should project one's gaze/attention
on a place without trees, montains, walls, etc.
When in a state where attention has dissolved away,
one's mental activites will stop."

in the middle of the two lotuses joined,
one shall get supreme happiness,o Happy One !"

for the one whose mental activity is being destroyed,
the undefinable shall happen in days."

Vijnana Bhairava 46 47 48 Feeling the Body In Space

The practice of feeling space pervading the body. I am not locked down inside the body or inside anything. Rather, the body and all places are inside me, in the space of awareness :

tanūdeśe śūnyataiva kṣaṇamātraṃ vibhāvayet |
nirvikalpaṃ nirvikalpo nirvikalpasvarūpabhāk || 46 ||
"One shloud feel, just for a moment,
that very emptiness within the body,
in an undivided manner (nirvikalpam).
Undivided shall enjoy one's undivided essence."

sarvaṃ dehagataṃ dravyaṃ viyadvyāptaṃ mṛgekṣaṇe |
vibhāvayet tatas tasya bhāvanā sā sthirā bhavet || 47 ||
"O gazelle-eyed-one ! One should feel all the substance of one's body
as being pervaded by space.
Then one's feeling shall
become stable."

dehāntare tvagvibhāgam bhittibhūtaṃ vicintayet |
na kiṃcid antare tasya dhyāyann adhyeyabhāg bhavet || 48 ||
"One should evoke clearly that there is nothing
inside the body,
the skin being like a wall.
Seeing thus, one shall enjoy that which cannot be seen."

The practice of feeling space :

nijadehe sarvadikkaṃ yugapad bhāvayed viyat |
nirvikalpamanās tasya viyat sarvam pravartate || 43 ||
"One sould felle the sky in one's body,
in all directions and all at onece.
Having undivided attention,
all becomes alive as sky."

pṛṣṭaśūnyaṃ mūlaśūnyaṃ yugapad bhāvayec ca yaḥ |
śarīranirapekṣiṇyā śaktyā śūnyamanā bhavet || 44 ||

and the empty (space) below, all at once.
Through the energy of not depending on the body,
one attention shall become empty."

pṛṣṭaśūnyaṃ mūlaśūnyaṃ hṛcchūnyam bhāvayet sthiram |
yugapan nirvikalpatvān nirvikalpodayas tataḥ || 45 ||
"One should feel clearly (sthiram) the empty (space)
above, below, in the heart, all at once.
Because one is undivided,
undivided (awareness) will rise."
