Mural in the Lhakhang Temple in Lhassa
Beginning of a group of verses about the practice of seeing visions of light in the space in front, with open eyes or, like in the following verse, with closed eyes :
kapālāntar mano nyasya tiṣṭhan mīlitalocanaḥ |
krameṇa manaso dārḍhyāt lakṣayet laṣyam uttamam || 34 ||
"Staying with closed eyes,
putting (one's) attention in (one's) skull,
throught the gradual stabilizing of attention,
one shall get at the ultimate Goal."
In the video below, I have a different reading of the text, with tishtet instead of tishthan, but the meaning is the same.
